Enjoy the beauty of many North America's birds and mammals!  Now over 800 species (over 1,100 worldwide)
of birds photographed from the US / CANADA area plus many large mammals and cetaceans,
including a number of the rarest North American birds from places like:
Attu Island, Alaska, Gambell, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, St. Paul Island, Alaska, Texas, SE Arizona, Florida,
and my home state California.

And, special galleries (nearly 300 species more) of the Birds of Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTICE ABOUT OUR WEBSITE:

I am Not adding any new images to the specific group galleries  (i.e. Hummingbirds, Owls, Shorebirds, etc.)
until I complete getting ALL the individual SPECIES web pages completed.

I am finally almost done (adding a few that need to be scanned from slides)
after completing everything "A" thru "Y" (Yellowthroat) species into their individual SPECIES web pages.

Use the "IMAGE LIST" link to search the species you want to view.

Because of this the "GALLERIES" web pages are becoming more and more out of date.

One last note.  Many bird websites show those beautiful and "pretty" pictures,
I've attempted to lean toward images of any particular species which gives more
of a 'learning' experience by showing species as they are MOST often seen.
How often have you seen a species from behind, from below, etc.?
They are not Always sitting perfectly sideways with the sun shining on them perfectly in breeding plumage!
That has been my focus on this website.

A special note:  Those who do photography, especially taking literally thousands of images,
realize the painstaking time involved in not just obtaining their images, but the post processing
of them and placing them on a website.  What you see on this site has taken me over 40 years
of hard work.  But that is only what is behind me.  At any one moment there are many thousands
of recently taken images which need to be worked and placed on the site. This site has gone through
many updates over the past 15 years however 80% of the images are from the "old" days of film and
bad resolution monitors to attempt to scan and process acceptable images to post on this site.
As the days and years go by many species images are being updated with digital replacements.
