Had a South Dakota Wildlife Biologist tell us how she had done research on Baird's Sparrows and knew their habits,
telling us they 'never' are found on fence wires.  This said to us and to another pair of birders.
One hour later, this shot (and below) of Baird's on a fence wire.  BTW, this was one of two that
we found sitting right there on a fence wire as we photographed from the car.
Lesson learned, so-called 'experts' often don't know - bird and get experience
and don't always take the 'experts' advice as they apparently enjoy sounding
like an expert and their ego satisfied when they are totally wrong!

(Ammodramus species)
for ID differences in these two species that breed and winter in close proximity
and at times are a challenging ID
