This was actually a life long dream to finally see a sloth. Fell in love
with them watching video footage on Television as a child.
Finally, after missing them on our first trip to Costa Rica, found both two-toed
and three-toed sloths in several places actually
AND
Although all images below are labeled "Three-toed" they are actually named
"Brown-throated" Sloth now

Short to no tail
Arms & Legs about the same length
6-7 Vertebrae
2 toed (fingers) on arms / 3 toed on legs / feet
Almost completely nocturnal
So-so swimmers
Color is: light tan to dark brown
Larger nose than 3 toed
Typically larger and also faster
Have bare flesh on their faces
Large wet nose
3 Toed (Brown-throated) Sloth:
28 ribs
Short stub tail (2.5 - 9cm)
Arms much longer than legs
9 Vertebrae
3 toed (fingers) on arms / 3 toed on legs / feet
Mostly diurnal
Good swimmer
Color is: black, brown, or gray
Smaller nose than 2 toed
Typically smaller and slower
Have black around eyes that goes down the neck
Have fur on their faces
